Founder & Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Chanel Freeman MSN, PMHNP-BC
Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Chanel Freeman’s journey into mental health began with a life-changing event in her childhood. That experience sparked a deep awareness of the importance of mental wellbeing and a desire to help others, especially in communities where mental health education is limited.
Chanel earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from D’Youville College in 2012 and spent over a decade caring for patients in mental health and substance use treatment, including working on a med-surg forensic unit at a Level 1 trauma hospital. In 2020, seeking more flexibility as a working single mother, she earned her Master’s in Nursing and began practicing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
In January 2024, Chanel founded Chanel Freeman NP in Psychiatry PLLC, her private practice dedicated to providing compassionate, accessible outpatient mental health care. She believes that every individual deserves personalized support and works closely with patients to promote lasting mental wellbeing. Chanel is licensed to practice in New York and Florida and is committed to helping her patients embrace their mental health journey with understanding and care.
